National Novel Writing Month: November - Young Adult Writing Class @ the Library!


National Novel Writing Month happens every November! It's a fun, seat-of-your-pants writing event where the challenge is to complete an entire novel in just 30 days. 
Let your imagination take over and just create!
Young Writers Program allows 17-and-under participants to set reasonable, yet challenging, individual word-count goals.
In 2013 more than 90,000 young writers participated!
Come Join in this Fun Class offered by the Fort Smith Public Library!

Open Mic Night: Dewey's Cafe - All Ages @ the Library!

October 2014 program: Thursday, October 23rd @ 7-8 p.m.

Come show off your writing, performance, or musical skills at Dewey's Café Open Mic Night. Poets, musicians, and other talented folks are invited to this casual fun event. Arrive early and sign up at the door; the event begins at 7 p.m. 

Feeling shy? Just stop by and enjoy watching the great undiscovered talents from the Fort Smith area.

Knit, Stitch & Crochet: For All Ages @ the Library!

If you knit, stitch, or crochet--or want to learn, bring your needles, hooks and projects and join this all-ages group for an afternoon of crafting. Yarn, extra supplies, and plenty of help will be available for anyone who wants to learn.

Special Guest Author Tamara Hart Heiner!

SPECIAL October 2014 program: Thursday, October 16th @ 4:00p.m.

The Page Turners Book Club will celebrate Teen Read Week with special guest Arkansas Author Tamara Hart Heiner. Heiner is the author of three young adult suspense novels, Perilous (2010), Altercation (2012) and Inevitable (2013), and Deliverer, a companion novel to the Perilous series. Her first non-fiction book about the Joplin tornado,Tornado Warning was released in May. Heiner will discuss her books and how she began her writing career, as well as the different avenues of publication available to writers today.
