Thank you to Local Author Karen Akins for 
visiting with Teens this Summer via Skype 
at the Fort Smith Public Library!

She was able to visit live and in real-time, 
with teens and parents via Skype, about her amazing 
Science Fiction Novels. 
Guests were able to purchase books 
and were gifted with special book swag.

 “Take the Floor: Teen Poetry Night” 

was held in April at the Fort Smith Public Library.

Teens ages 10-17 along with guest adult readers came together in Dewey's Cafe to share their favorite poems, perform original pieces or just listen at the free event, which was held in conjunction with National Poetry Month.

The Fort Smith Public Library offers programs and services for teens in middle school, junior high, and high school. The Young Adult collection includes Fiction, Non-Fiction (including Anime and Manga), Reference Materials as well as a 

New Teen Releases Book Display. 

There is a comfortable place for teens to hang out and study or read. Teen and tween-geared programming is scheduled on a regular basis.
