SPECIAL November 2014 program: Monday, November 24th @ 5-6 p.m.

The Fort Smith Public Library invites children and teens to Swap Your Stuff! This is your chance to bring stuff you no longer need, like books, DVDs, CDs, or games, and trade them for a one to one exchange for something that someone else brings. 

Items for trade will be in the Youth Services Department of the Main Library. Please be sure that what you bring is something that another kid or teen would want!

Teen Book Club :Page Turners @ the Library!

Page Turner's Teen Book Club @ Dewey's Café 
November 2014 program: Tuesday, November 18th @ 5-6 p.m.

Tweens and teens (ages 9 - 17) are invited to the monthly Page Turner's Teen Book Club at Dewey's Café in the Main Library. Bring a book or books you've already read to share with the group, hang out, and have fun discussing what you've been reading. Bring a friend too! Snacks provided.

International Games Day@ the Library!

Get your game on!!! It's a family affair!!! Join us all four Fort Smith Public Library locations as we join with thousands of libraries across the world to celebrate the American Library Association's 7th annual International Games Day @ Your Library. 

Children & children at heart are invited to drop by to check out a book and play a board game.

Library Closed in Honor of Veterans Day!

Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans.

It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect).

The United States also originally observed Armistice Day; it then evolved into the current Veterans Day holiday in 1954.
